What is the balance of classroom vs in store experience?arrow down

Students are full time employees of Scrivens (37.5 hours per week) with 1 day a week set aside for a study day.

In addition, each course provider also has their own requirements for ‘campus days’ which are spread out throughout the degree course. Depending on the University/course provider, these can vary between 9 days during an 18 month degree course to 14 weeks during a 24 month course.

What training will I undertake?arrow down

The course combines theory and practical based learning to prepare you for a career as a HCPC registered hearing aid dispenser. You’ll learn to assess hearing, fit hearing aids and support patients.

How long is the apprenticeship?arrow down

The course length varies between 15 to 24 months depending on the university provider.

Is there a financial commitment?arrow down

This course is fully funded by Scrivens. However, there is a training agreement in place should you decide to leave the company soon after qualifying.

What qualifications will I gain?arrow down

Upon passing the course you will gain a Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology and be able to register with HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser.

Yes, Scrivens encourages career progression. Opportunities include training to be a Hearing Aid Audiologist, Branch Management, or moving into Regional Leadership roles.

You’ll begin with an induction programme to familiarise yourself with company policies, processes and procedures and customer service standards. You’ll likely be shadowing experienced audiologists to gain insight into Scrivens’ operations and customer care approach.
