Application Process
Can I send or drop my CV to the branch I want to apply for?
All applications must be made online, so unfortunately we can not accept CVs in branch. If the branch local to you does not have a current vacancy, you can always sign up for job alerts. Just sign up here.
How do I apply for a role with Scrivens?
It is easy to apply. Just find the role and location you would like to be considered for, complete the online form and upload your CV. You can find our current vacancies here.
What ID do I need to bring with me?
British or Irish citizens can prove their right to work in the UK with a valid or expired British or Irish passport or passport card.
If you do not have a passport or passport card, you can use a UK or Irish birth/adoption certificate or a certificate of British citizenship registration or naturalisation, and if you have one, an official document from a previous employer or government agency showing your name, such as a P45, P60 and National Insurance number.
Non-British or Irish citizens can prove their right to work with a share code and eligible immigration documents.
How long will the interview take?
Please allow up to an hour for an in-person interview.
Can I change my interview appointment time?
If you need to change your interview time for any reason, please let us know by declining the scheduled interview and replying to the email invite. Our team will work with you to find a suitable alternative.
How do I cancel an interview?
When you receive your interview invite, you can either accept or decline. If you need to cancel a previously accepted interview, follow the same link in your invite and change your response to “decline.”
Can I apply for more than one job?
You are welcome to apply for as many jobs as you like. Whether it is for different roles, locations, or hours that suit you better, we encourage you to explore all opportunities that match your skills and preferences. Audiology student FAQs
What is the balance of classroom vs in store experience?
Students are full time employees of Scrivens (37.5 hours per week) with 1 day a week set aside for a study day.
In addition, each course provider also has their own requirements for ‘campus days’ which are spread out throughout the degree course. Depending on the University/course provider, these can vary between 9 days during an 18 month degree course to 14 weeks during a 24 month course.
What training will I undertake?
The course combines theory and practical based learning to prepare you for a career as a HCPC registered hearing aid dispenser. You’ll learn to assess hearing, fit hearing aids and support patients.
How long is the apprenticeship?
The course length varies between 15 to 24 months depending on the university provider.
Is there a financial commitment?
This course is fully funded by Scrivens. However, there is a training agreement in place should you decide to leave the company soon after qualifying.
What qualifications will I gain?
Upon passing the course you will gain a Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology and be able to register with HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser.
Are there opportunities for career advancement at Scrivens?
Yes, Scrivens encourages career progression. Opportunities include training to be a Hearing Aid Audiologist, Branch Management, or moving into Regional Leadership roles.
How can I stay informed about advancements in audiology?
Scrivens offers training and development opportunities, so take advantage of company-provided resources. Additionally, stay connected with professional organisations like the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologist (BSHAA) and British Academy of Audiology (BAA) for industry updates.
What should I expect during my first few weeks at Scrivens?
You’ll begin with an induction programme to familiarise yourself with company policies, processes and procedures and customer service standards. You’ll likely be shadowing experienced audiologists to gain insight into Scrivens’ operations and customer care approach.

What training is available?
This will depend on your role. There is ongoing professional training supported by e-learning, while we also offer branch management training programs alongside courses to become Dispensing Opticians, Contact Lens Opticians, Hearing Care Assistants, Hearing Aid Audiologists or Wax Removal Clinicians. We will work with you to achieve your potential!

Will training be provided for my role?
Training will be provided. We have a dedicated team of trainers who will guide you through training plans tailored to each role across the business. They are here to ensure you have all the support and skills you need to excel in your role. In addition, you will complete various e-learning modules as part of your training.
Is a Company uniform provided?
Yes, if you work in a retail team or our manufacturing and distribution centre, a company uniform will be provided. It is supplied when you join to ensure you have everything you need to look professional and feel comfortable on the job.
How many hours is a part time role?
Part-time roles typically range from 15 to 30 hours per week, depending on the specific needs of the branch.
