As an Optometrist with us, you’ll conduct detailed eye examinations using the latest technology. You’ll build trusted, long-term relationships with patients and work with leading lens and contact lens suppliers to offer tailored solutions.

We believe in giving our professionals the time they need with patients, without the pressure of hard sales targets. You’ll have access to OCT equipment in selected branches, as well as CPD training and the chance to attend our annual clinical conference. Pre-Registration Optometrists – providing confidence and support

Starting your career is a big step, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

As a Pre-Registration Optometrist, you’ll gain hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced professionals. You’ll perform supervised eye examinations and contact lens fittings while developing your communication and clinical decision-making skills. You’ll rotate across different branches to experience a wide range of patient care scenarios, with mentorship from both in-branch teams and our Professional Services department.

In return you’ll receive a dedicated supervisor and a structured training plan. You’ll gain exposure to diverse clinical cases and access to advanced optical tools, including OCT where available. We’ll support you in meeting your GOC competencies and preparing for assessments. With strong prospects for a permanent role post-qualification, you’ll find a supportive environment where you can learn, grow and thrive.

Locum Optometrists – flexibility with professional fulfilment

For Locum Optometrists, Scrivens offers the perfect balance of clinical freedom and flexible working.

You’ll have the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in well-equipped branches, supported by experienced teams – without the need for long-term commitments.

In your role as a Locum Optometrist, you’ll carry out comprehensive eye examinations using the latest diagnostic technology. You’ll provide expert advice and tailored lens and contact lens solutions, while building genuine rapport with patients. Your clinical excellence and patient focus will support local branches and contribute to high standards of care.
